Parkview Care Center History
Parkview Care Center is beautifully situated overlooking a park and golf course which was the perfect setting for a nursing home. Parkview was constructed in 1961 - 1962 by Les and Jay Behr with a 30 bed capacity. They lived in the house just west of the nursing home which was called Behr Nursing Home.
In 1967 - 1968, the second addition was added to include a lounge/chapel area and the added space increased the capacity of the Behr Nursing Home to 61 beds.
In 1999, the administrative addition was added to include 2 private rooms, offices for the Administrator, Director of Nursing, Social Service Director, Activities, Dietary Director, Exam room MDS Registered Nurse, Maintenance, Laundry, and a large Therapy Room.
The name has changed several times to include Behr Nursing Home, Parkview Nursing Home, Naeve Parkview Home, and now Parkview Care Center. Over the last few years the facility has added private rooms and decreased the number of beds to 55 residents.
Now called Parkview Care Center, Jim and Kathy Birchem purchased the community in April, 2009.
Quality of life is important to us.
