Meet the Administrator
When asked what he liked about working with the seniors at Parkview Care Center, Bob replied, "I am from this area and grew up knowing many of the people I'm now visiting with everyday. It feels good to give back and help care for them. At Parkview, there is a very personable and easy atmosphere which makes it good to be here each day."
Bob grew up in the Alden, Minnesota area which is just down the road from Wells. He graduated from Alden High School and then attended Riverland Community College in Austin, Minnesota. Bob then enlisted in the U.S. Airforce where he served for 8 years as a lab tech. After being discharged, he attended the Univerisy of Minnesota where he earned his Bachelor Degree in Healthcare Administration.
Bob worked at Good Samaritan in Iowa for 4 1/2 years and then moved on to Atlantic, Iowa where he was an Executive Director at Heritage House for 2 years. During that time, he gained experience with seniors in Independent Living apartments, Assisted Care apartments, Memory Care, and the total support Nuring Home. Then Bob had a chance to move back to Minnesota and moved to Albert Lea, MN for a short time where he was at Thorncrest Retirement Home. During his time at Thorncrest, Bob decided it was time to work on his family life and be a more supportive family member, so he gained employment at Cabellas which he also enjoyed very much as he enjoys the outdoors. Now at Parkview, Bob feels that this is where he belongs and that each day is very gratifying knowing how much impact he has on all of the residents he serves each day. When not busy working with the senior population, Bob loves spending time outdoors with fishing and shooting sports. He also loves spending time with his three children ages 17, 19, and 21 years of age. They live close to him which makes it very easy to get together.
When asked what is unique about Parkview Care Center in Wells, Minnesota, Bob thinks that the employees truly are dedicated to the home; they are here for the right reasons and many have worked here for quite some time. They are very kind and they truly do give the residents of Wells and the surrounding communities of Albert Lea and Blue Earth the wonderful care they deserve. They work together and enjoy what they do.
